Darlin’ Deals Review ~ Disney’s Inside Out on Blu-Ray + DVD!

Inside Out

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary advanced copy of Inside Out on Blu-Ray & DVD in exchange for my honest review. I was not persuaded to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own unless otherwise noted.

I was so thrilled to receive an advanced copy of the highly acclaimed Disney movie, Inside Out , especially because I did not have a chance to take my son to see it when it was released in theatres. Upon receiving the movie we decided to do a family picnic in the living room for dinner so we could watch the movie right away!

This movie surprised me in many ways, it seemed to have an element of true emotion to it that most children’s films don’t possess. Throughout the storyline there was an undertone of how human emotions affect our interaction with each other on a daily basis. Even deeper, this story explored how our emotions can have a ‘domino affect’ on our choices in life when we don’t control our internal feelings and guide the right emotions. Of course this was something that only adults will pick up on which makes this film enjoyable for parents to watch in addition to the draw it has for people without children too!

To keep the little ones engaged, since they will be lost on the true meaning behind each emotion character’s role, there are tons of goofy scenes and fun light-hearted jokes that will keep your child giggling the whole time!

The story mainly takes place in the mind of a young hockey-loving girl named Riley. Inside her mind we are introduced to her 5 main emotions played out in hilarious form. These emotions are: Joy, Fear, Disgust, Sadness, and Anger. Along the journey through her childhood each emotion plays a crucial part in her development and children can learn along the way throughout the movie how emotions can positively and negatively impact relationships.

I highly recommend this movie to people of all ages! As far as understanding the actual concept behind the film that may take a viewer over the age of 10 years old to appreciate as my 6 year old son mostly laughed at the silliness rather than seeming connected and empathetic to Riley as the creators may have intended.

Inside Out is available on Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy combo pack and filled with tons of Bonus Features too!
